Man tillverkade bl.a. en ny bränsletank i rostfritt stål. Avgassystemet byttes.
We have been commissioned to sell this very nice car with an interesting ownership history. The car was ordered new by a G A Mansill in Warvickshire, England, and it was delivered to him in December 1960. In October 1962, the car was bought by Rolls-Royce dealer H R Owen in London. On July 10, 1967, the car was sold to Mrs. Martha ”Sunny” von Bülow in the United States. She was one of the main characters in a high-profile drama in which her husband, Danish-born lawyer Claus von Bülow, was suspected of having tried to murder his wife with the help of insulin injections. In an initial trial, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison but acquitted in a later trial. However, Sunny was in a coma for several years until her death. The whole story later became a feature film called ”Reversal of fortune”.
In 2016 it was bought by a Swede who took it from the United States to Rohdins in Trollhättan for repairs and service. Among other things, a new stainless steel fuel tank was manufactured. The exhaust system was replaced. The major service was carried out and parts of the front suspension etc. were repaired and the gearbox adjusted. All at a cost of about SEK 200,000. The car was sold on to the current owner who had the car at Rohdins Classic Car in Trollhättan from the autumn of 2020 to the autumn of 2021. At that time, the engine room was renovated to a good standard. The radiator and water pump were replaced. A new ceiling was installed. The fuel pump was replaced. A major renovation of the brakes was carried out. The car was also fitted with new tires. All at a cost of SEK 300,000.
The car is thus now in a very good mechanical condition. However, the paint is bad as it has cracked in several places. The car was originally right-hand drive but has later been converted to left-hand drive.
Asking price: SEK 1,250,000, £93,000, Euro 109,000
